The Country Baptist Church is a true independent New Testament church, by this we are not affiliated with any man-made external organization be it a Convention, Association, Fellowship or Mission Board.

Our only Head is the Lord Jesus Christ and our only headquarters is in heaven. We fellowship with sister churches of like precious faith, and practice, and support missionaries sent forth by the authority of such churches.

We believe in the verbal plenary inspiration of the Holy Scriptures. We believe that God has preserved His very words in the transmission of His Word as found in the Greek Textus Receptus and the Hebrew Masoretic Text. We believe that the Bible as we have it today in the King James Version is the Word of God in the English language in a sense that cannot be said of any other translation.

Our Services are as follows:
Sunday Morning Worship 10:30am
Sunday Night Service 4:00pm
Saturday Morning Radio Broadcast on (KSST 1230) in Sulphur Springs 10:30am

WHAT’S IN A NAME?

There is no beautiful parking lot.
No “Reserved for Visitors” places.
Feel free to stop most anywhere—
There are abundant spaces.

There are no stained-glass windows;
No chandeliers, I fear.
There are fluorescents, however,
That buzz for all to hear.

You’ll not find any tennis courts,
A library or a gym.
Those things you get out in the world.
This place is just for Him.

There is no chart nailed on the wall
To show how many came,
Or to indicate the money given
In a certain person’s name.

The roll is not called to see if you’re here,
Or eyebrows raised in wonder.
We’re all just getting ready for when
The roll is called “up yonder.”

We do not worship the Holy Ghost
Or saints, or Jesus’ mother.
We magnify the great “I Am”-
Beside Him there is no other.

No speaking in tongues, no stomping of feet,
No religious association.
This place just does not need those things
It’s built on a firm foundation.

You will not find a multitude-
A “little flock” are we.
But a lift le flock is precious
And sometimes pedigree.

We pray for one another.
The sick are called by name.
Our care and concern is genuine.
It is in no wise a game.

Each in our group has troubles.
Doubtless some have many more
Than the worldly bunch out at the lake
Having fun, fun, fun, galore.

But our excitement doesn’t come from
The world we’re living in.
God has promised us a place of light
That’s completely free of sin.

Brother Hammond preaches the whole truth-The gospel — “the glad good news.”
Dividing the Word for everyone.
You can follow from the pews.

What you will hear is not popular
From a secular frame of mind.
They’d like to silence preachers
And others of the kind.

“At least water down your sermon.
Make it fim and easy to hear.
Keep on banging that pulpit, and
You’ll be closed within a year!”

I say keep preaching like you do.
The spirit here is good.
Christ died and rose, so we worship Him-
We absolutely should!

The building looks sort of primitive,
With logs of pine or birch.
The names out by the highway
We’re called “The Country Church!!”
