A Thought By: C. H. Spurgeon:

Full of Song
"The mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands" Isaiah 55:12

When sin is pardoned, our greatest sorrow is ended, and our truest pleasure begins. Such is the joy which the LORD bestows upon His reconciled ones, that it overflows and fills all nature with delight. The material world has latent music in it, and a renewed heart knows how to bring it out and make it vocal. Creation is the organ, and a gracious man finds out its keys, lays his hand thereon, and wakes the whole system of the universe to the harmony of praise. Mountains and hills, and other great objects, are, as it were, the bass of the chorus; while the trees of the wood, and all things that have life, take up the air of the melodious song.

When God's Word is made to prosper among us and souls are saved, then everything seems full of song. When we hear the confessions of young believers and the testimonies of well-instructed saints, we are made so happy that we must praise the LORD, and then it seems as if rocks and hills and woods and fields echo our joy-notes and turn the world into an orchestra. LORD, on this happy May Day, lead me out into thy tuneful world as rich in praise as a lark in full song.

A Thought From Our Pastor:

I obey in two sets of laws; the Bible and our Constitution
"Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men." Acts 5:29

I write this article with no intention of being a man of law breaking, however no man alive on this earth will ever tell me what I can or cannot preach from the pulpit of the church where God has graciously set me as Pastor. There is no doubt that there is coming a time (and this time is very close) when our government is going to attempt to control our pulpits and tell us as pastors that there are certain things we cannot preach about or we will be charged with hate crimes. I have been telling our membership here this since the last election, and this was going to be brought to reality within the next four years and one of the members here told me he had heard it discussed on T.V. Beloved, I know this is going to be a reality, pastors speaking about homosexuality and against abortion will one day be a hate crime right here in America. Socialist cannot run anything without controlling everything including the pulpits of American churches. Well beloved I am here to tell you and our Socialist government one thing; "you are not going to control my pulpit!" We have two sets of laws and I obey them both and I am protected by them both. The Constitution of the United States of America gives me this right: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." Our founding father made sure the churches were protected from our government and government has no right to invade our churches pulpits. God gave me the right to pastor one of His churches and God gave me the right to preach His Holy Script, and no man on this earth will ever take away my rights given to me by God and our Nation’s Constitution.

Please understand one simple fact, abortion is still murder and homosexuality is still an abomination to the Lord our God. Leviticus 18:22 "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination." My name is not Pastor Rick Warren and I will not justify what God has over and over condemned in His word. Just because certain people who are lost and condemned to eternal destruction have a desire to over power God’s word and God’s pastors does not mean it is going to happen. Baptist have for more than two thousand years (along with many other Christians) suffered great persecution and just because we have had a few hundred years without it does not mean it will not come again. In our text (Acts 5:29) we see two Baptist men Peter and John told by their government not to preach about Jesus Christ or they would be killed and beloved they did not stop and neither will I stop. My sermons are controlled by One and His blessed name is Jehovah God. Beloved my own church will never tell this Pastor what he can or cannot preach in the pulpit, it is forbidden. If this church was to ever to make this demand I would without hesitation resign. However this church would never make such a demand. Our church is a sovereign, independent body and we are neither part of any conference, association, or etc. nor will we be controlled by the government of the United States of America or any other outside source. Our Constitution protects me and other strong pastors from being controlled by our government and I will never bow down to its power on this matter. This new Socialist controlled government may control what happens outside of this church but they will never control what goes on inside of it, nor will they ever control this pulpit. If America wants to believe the murder of unborn children and homosexuality are just acts then so be it, but you will never make me justify it nor will you ever force me not to continue to prove it is an act of abomination. Romans 1:27 "And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet."

Never, never neglect the Word of God:

The Word will make your heart rich with truth, rich with understanding, and then your conversation, when it flows from your mouth, will be like your heart-- rich, soothing, and sweet. Make your heart full of rich, generous love, and then the stream that flows from your hand will be just as rich and generous as your heart. Above all, get Jesus to live in your heart, and then out of your heart shall flow rivers of living water, more rich, more satisfying than the water of the well of Sychar of which Jacob drank. Oh! go, Christian, to the great mine of riches, and cry to the Holy Spirit to make your heart rich unto salvation. So shall your life and conversations be a boon to your fellow man; and when they see you, your face will be like an angel of God. Wise men will stand up when they see you, and men will give you reverence.
